St. Paul University Dumaguete

President, 2016 --

SPUDAA-NA supports St. Paul University Dumaguete's vision as a center of academic excellence and dedicated to building a just and humane society. To help reach that vision, SPUDAA-NA, therefore, supports SPUD's mission to inculcate the Paulinian core values in innovative academic programs, relevant research, and meaningful community extension initiatives. This mission is further translated into an umbrella advocacy for peace, which covers environmental and disaster management advocacies. Thus SPUD has received the award as the region's Most Sustainable and Eco-Friendly School.

SPUD is officially filing documents to convert Calo Farm to a Paulinian Outreach Foundation Inc., which aims to cater to the rural poor for which funding agencies can come in for assistance. One of the main purposes of the said foundation is to promote an integrated four-fold basic program of livelihood, education, public health, and self-government.

SPUDAA-NA outlines 2 main categories of support for SPUD Projects as follows:
1.  Short Term Needs: a) For student support to help cover K-12 tuition gap and for Eco-Scholarships, and b) For income-generating
projects that are short-term and marketable, including the on-campus Mushroom Project and Calo Farm/Paulinian Outreach Fdn initiatives
2.  Long-Term Needs:

     a) Development of Bais Marine Pond - a major project on donated suitable 6 hectares in the town of Bais;

     b) Development of a sustainable community health clinic with herb gardens and herb medicine procesing - a major project on donated 6 hectares in Bio-os, Amlan (see pdf: CHDC project proposal); and

     c) and installation of solar panels at Calo Farm.

For cultural, educational, social enrichment and fellowship opportunities for its members, including:

  • Biennial Conference – event program/souvenir journal, development sessions (organizational, program, fundraising), leadership training and skills workshops, fellowship and dialogue, and entertainment, etc.
  • Fellowship mini-grant application – promoting, preserving, and experiencing a unique cultural heritage legacy.
  • Special Initiatives – book projects, expertise-sharing seminars, etc., and
  • Publications – website and print materials other than specific special projects or initiatives.

We are grateful and appreciate your continuing support

Your kind and generous donation is always a significant contribution towards a more innovative and integrated educational, health, and economic development advancement towards sustainability.
